Show Style Explorations

Recently, I was asked to create some pre-vis work exploring a "look" for a new kid's show. It's not in production yet, but I was sort of pleasantly surprised by the outcome of my concept art. It's a bit of a different style for me. I was trying to channel South American art into the look since the show creators are using Latin rhythms for the songs. A very multi-cultural cast and eccentric melodies should offer up something a little more folksy and different for kids and parents to watch together. I hope it gets made! ...and I hope I get to work on it! Feedback and/or critiquing would be greatly appreciated. :)

Now that I've picked my jaw up off the floor, let me just saw AWESOME!! This stuff is eye candy of the tastiest variety. The colors really pop and I love the character designs, especially the ladybugs. Love the background textures and designs also, man if you get to work on this show it would be one of the most gorgeous kids shows ever!

Thanks so much for the comments Dave and Al. You guys keep my chin up through slow times Illustration-wise. Now my hope is that the show gets picked up and I can get some cool friends in on it. :)

Oh, and don't worry about that copy of Flash, Al. I got a copy.

heyy!!!
It would be so ice to see those in action!
The textures and colors are trully rich. I think it´s a refreshed style for kids, considering every show nowadays is 3d or flat.
Let´s hope it gets thumbs up.
Loooooooved the lady bugs!

Just browsing through some entries, after stumbling upon your journal via google "Jareth costume" - I love your work! A bit of proof that whimsy DOES in fact have a place in art - something I've debated in many an art class...

Hope to see more!
