Those who gamble...and gamble...and gamble...eventually lose.
This is an illustration I did about the risks involved with unsafe sex. I'm worried that it's a bit harsh and judgemental, yet I really wanted to use the gambling metaphor. Maybe it's just that the gambler looks so crazed...
I think it's great! I dig the colours and the linework. I think you might be right about the crazed look though. If the gambler look a little more shocked it would draw our eyes right to the HIV. Love all the work on your blog! can't wait to see more!
I dig the slanted eyes of the slot machine. It reminds me of Mr. Burns when he does that evil hand gesture when someone has been lured into his evil plan.

sometimes a harsh quality is what gets the attention of the people. the gambling metaphor is extremely powerful. and true.

andrea - I'm so glad it makes sense! I try to weave in interesting metaphors here and there. I do my best to keep them from being cliche.
